【Music Connects Generations, Love Unites the Community — The Inaugural HHCC Community Youth Classical Concert Concludes Warmly】

On the afternoon of June 27th, the first Chinese Community Youth Classical Concert successfully premiered in Tacoma! Supported by the Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) multicultural platform, this monumental showcase was organized by Helping Hands of Chinese Communities (HHCC) with Jade Lin serving as general coordinator.
Nine exceptional youth classical musicians from Pierce County and King County brought masterworks by classical icons like Debussy, Handel, and Bach to life on piano, violin, and cello. Over forty parents, elders, and residents gathered to support the students, creating a deeply moving, cross-generational celebration of classical artistry.
A Legacy of Love via a Baby Grand Piano The youth performed on a beautiful Baby Grand piano generously donated to HHCC by the family of a late Chinese community elder, perfectly symbolizing the passing of musical culture and love to the next generation. For many of these talented students, this marked their first time performing not for an exam or a trophy, but to bring warmth, comfort, and service directly to local elders.
Community Music Volunteer Service Award To celebrate their talent and dedication, the HHCC Board of Directors proudly presented the Community Music Volunteer Service Award to all nine youth classical musicians: Sebastian, Lesley, Melody, CeCe, Mason, Ellie, Vivian, Elaine, and Zilina.
Behind-the-Scenes Unity & Fellowship While the youth tuned their classical instruments, dedicated volunteers gathered in the kitchen starting at 1:00 PM to prepare a beautiful reception. New and long-time immigrants worked alongside neighbors to craft handmade pan-fried buns, sushi platters, and salmon appetizers—seamlessly blending community fellowship with classical art.
